European data protection and cookie rules are driving the market towards a strict opt-in environment. Cooperation between the various parts of the advertising ecosystem will be critical in ensuring that the industry can continue to thrive in the new legal environment. This session explores the challenges of operating in an opt-in world and what will be required of publishers, ad-tech, agencies, and brands. The session will also provide insight into the legal and possible technical solutions being considered and developed by IAB Europe.

Lack of transparency is a key criticism leveraged against the online advertising ecosystem, this session will explore the challenges of providing transparency in an opaque ecosystem, discuss the need for cooperation and roles of publishers, ad-tech, agencies and brands to ensure that advertising becomes more transparent. The session will also share how IAB Europe together with other trade associations plans to leverage self-regulation to achieve this goal.
